Pain in the spine - in the neck, upper back, or lower back - can happen suddenly or develop over a long period of time. It doesn’t always mean that you’ve done something wrong! Dr. Abbas will work with you to assess your spine, figure out what factors are contributing to your pain, and help you develop a plan to get rid of pain once and for all. Treatment can include hands-on release of tight muscles or stiff joints, cupping, acupuncture, and/or easy exercises that you can do at home or work to control pain.
Pain, clicking, and weakness in one or both knees can be related to overexertion in sport or work, arthritis, meniscus tears, and/or ligament sprains. We thoroughly assess your knees as well as the surrounding joints in the hip, ankle, and feet to determine what causes your knee pain and provide a plan for long-term relief.
Shoulder pain can occur because of tears or strains of the rotator cuff muscles, posture imbalances that put pressure on the tendons and joints of the shoulder, or compressed or irritated nerves coming from the neck. Chiropractic care for shoulder pain includes an assessment of the shoulder and surrounding joints and tissues so that we can determine what the cause of your pain is. Treatment can include manual release of sore or tight muscles, joint mobilization, acupuncture, and/or specialized exercises to stretch and strengthen the shoulder muscles.
Tendons are where muscles attach to bone in the body. These areas take a lot of stress and can develop pain suddenly or over a period of time, leading to conditions such as Achilles tendonitis in the calf, golfer’s elbow or tennis elbow, or rotator cuff tendinopathy. Chiropractic care, including muscle release, acupuncture, and thorough rehabilitative exercise programs, can restore tendons to pain-free and normal function.
Sciatica is an irritation of the sciatic nerve, causing shooting, burning, or electric shock-like pain that affects the buttock and back of the leg, and may cause numbness, tingling, or weakness in the leg and foot. Sciatica can happen for many reasons, including disc injuries, spine osteoarthritis, or irritation of specific muscles. We help you figure out what exactly is causing it for you, provide effective, long-lasting pain relief, and help you prevent future occurrences.
Plantar fasciitis is pain in the sole of the foot that can develop due to dysfunction in the muscles and joints of the foot and ankle. This is often related to inappropriate footwear or persistent long periods of standing and walking. Orthotics are often prescribed, but not always needed! Dr. Abbas uses targeted tissue release therapies and structured exercise programs to help you permanently recover from plantar fasciitis.
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) can become irritated or dysfunctional and cause jaw pain, clicking, headaches, and neck pain. Chiropractic treatment helps to restore normal joint movement and relax muscles around the jaw, face, and neck so that you can be pain-free.
Spinal stenosis is a narrowing of the spinal canal that may cause pain in the back and one or both legs, weakness, numbness, and difficulty with walking. Chiropractic care, including gentle spinal mobilization, hip muscle stretching, and supervised exercise, can help reduce pain and improve walking ability.
